The Cleveland Browns and former coach Bud Carson reportedly have reached a $200,000 a settlement.
The Akron Beacon Journal reported Tuesday that unidentified sources said the Browns have agreed to honor what was to have been the final year of Carson's contract.Carson was fired as head coach of the Browns about midway through the 1990 season, when the Browns had their worst-ever record at 3-13. His last game was a 42-0 home loss to Buffalo, when the Browns' record fell to 2-7.
The Browns later informed him he would not be paid the final year of his contract because of critical remarks he made about the organization.
