Retired Salt Lake physician Ernest Ludlow Wilkinson, 67, died Monday, Jan. 27, in Palm Springs from complications of heart disease.

Dr. Wilkinson was a prominent Utah internist and cardiologist. He worked at the Salt Lake Clinic for 33 years, serving four years as clinic president and 15 years on the board of directors.Dr. Wilkinson is a past president of the Utah Society of Internal Medicine and the Utah Heart Association. He was a founding director of the American Society of Internal Medicine and a director of the American Heart Association. He also served on the admissions committee for the University of Utah School of Medicine.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 31, noon, Monument Park 17th Ward Chapel, 2795 Crestview Drive. A viewing is scheduled Thursday, Jan. 30, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E. 1300 South. Interment will be at Sunset Lawn Memorial Park.
