Simon Frank, 87, well-known Salt Lake merchant, passed away December 23, 1992.
Born in Murray, Utah September 26, 1905, he graduated from the University of California at Berkeley. Married Suzanne Seller of Portland, Oregon, and celebrated 61 years of happy marriage. Simon Frank sold the family business established by his fater, Arthur Frank, in 1910, to Hart, Schaffner and Marx in 1959. He continued his interest in the business until his death.He is survived by: Three children, Frederick Frank of New York City, Thomas Frank and suzanne Goldsmith of Salt Lake City. Mr. Frank left six grandcholdren and five great-grandchildren; sisiter, Helen Sandack, Salt Lake City. His wife, Suzanne, predeceased him July 1990.
Mr. Frank was a member of the Salt Lake Country Club, and the Alta Club, the LaQuinta (California) Golf Club. He served as President of Temple B'Nai Israel, Salt Lake City; he was a major contributor to the John A. Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, School of Medicine.
Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m., Sunday at Kol Ami Cemetery, 4th Ave. and "R" Streets. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the "Simon and Suzanne Frank Degenerative Retinal Diseases Center," University of Utah Health Sciences Center, 50 North Medical Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84132.
