Delphia Rees Despain, 94, passed away January 29, 1992, in the Nephi Hospital.

Born August 2, 1897, in Wales, Sanpete County, Utah to Nephi J. and Mary Ellen Price Rees. Her father died while she was very young and was raised by her mother and stepfather, Lauritz U. Christensen. She married George Eugene Despain, of Granite, Utah, Manti LDS Temple, June 24, 1925; he died January 3, 1987. Delphi graduated from Moroni High School, University of Utah, and taught school in Jordan, Murray and North Sanpete School Districts. During her early years of teaching she rode a horse from Moroni to Freedom to teach in a one room school house. Most of her life was spent in Moroni.She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in many capacities.

Survived by two sons and two daughters and spouses, Mrs. Vance (Betty) Aagard, Fountain Green; Mrs. Blaine (Yvonne) Hale, Sandy; Larry (Stella) Despain, Moroni; Steve (Kaye) Despain, Cedar City; 22 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Chloe R. Madsen.

Funeral services Monday, February, 3, 1992,

11 a.m., Moroni LDS Stake Center. Friends may call Ursenbach Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, Sunday, 6-8 p.m. and Monday at the Stake Center, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial: Moroni City Cemetery.
