A gunman killed three men and wounded two women outside a nightclub Friday during what police suspect may have been retaliation for an earlier confrontation involving gang members.

A sixth person was hospitalized after being run over by the fleeing gunman's four-wheel-drive vehicle. The gunman remained at large Friday.The shooting occurred at Temptations, a nightclub known as a hangout for the Bloods, a gang originally formed in Los Angeles, police spokesman John Wyckoff said. The gang has members in Denver, too.
