A state Ku Klux Klan leader has pleaded guilty to shooting into a Nashville synagogue in June 1990, shattering a window.

Leonard William Armstrong, 35, of Lenoir City, about 140 miles east of Nashville, pleaded Friday before U.S. District Judge John T. Nixon.The guilty plea was part of an agreement that U.S. Attorney Ernest Williams said was sealed. He wouldn't disclose details.

Armstrong, grand dragon of the Tennessee White Knights of the KKK, told the judge he wanted to intimidate the Jewish congregation. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
