A California production crew spent the Easter weekend filming a commercial in Brigham City for Levi's.
According to the Utah State Film Society, the Los Angeles office of LimeLight Productions, a firm based in England, called March 5, saying it wanted to shoot footage in a small Utah town. After looking at photos of several communities, the company chose Brigham City.
For many residents who elected to stay close to home for the Easter weekend, the filming generated excitement.
"This is really fun for Brigham City," said Sharon Brailsford, a spokesperson from the mayor's office. "We are really delighted. It will provide a good profile of the city."
One of a series of three advertisements filmed in U.S. cities, including Houston and San Francisco, the Brigham City advertisement featured shots of the city's historic downtown area in addition to other areas of interest, such as the local railroad station and tabernacle.
According to producer Jeremy Barrett, a "garage band" comprised of four young males will be superimposed over a backdrop of Brigham City mountains and buildings in a fantasy scene.
"The buildings will be scaled down and it'll look like they (the band members) are six stories tall," said Barrett.
Sharon Brailsford said she was told that one of the giant people will "sit" on the town's popular Idle Isle restaurant.
The commercial is scheduled to air in late June on the Fox network.
