I have read/heard the past few years the term "battered wives." I am a "battered husband." I have had physical abuse to the point I have required medical attention.

In filing a "domestic violence report," I was informed by the police department there are as many cases of men as there are of women reported in "domestic violence."I was reared to respect and never strike a woman; however, I have made up my mind never to take another beating from a woman. I shall strike back.

Jail or no jail, I will strike back. Women who abuse should be able to take what they hand out. I have had bites, kicks, fists thrown in all areas - yet, I did not strike back - never again will this happen to me.

Why as a "battered male" do we not hear of the many male cases? Why is it always the "poor" woman asking for sympathy and pity when it is a twofold situation?
