Edward and Yong Norfleet hope someone can tell them where their 18-year-old daughter has gone.
Sarah Ann Norfleet hasn't been seen since June 20. "As parents, you always think the worst has happened. But who knows, maybe she is just sitting downtown," said Ed Norfleet. The family reported the girl missing Sept. 3 after she didn't call or visit home for the birthday of her twin sisters. "That's what started us really worrying . . . Sarah always called or visited when a family event was happening, always," Ed Norfleet said.
The girl moved with her family from Fort Bliss, Texas, to Bountiful several years ago. She had lived with some friends in Salt Lake City for a while, then moved home again in May of this year.
Police Sgt. Roger Green said Sarah was last seen with a girlfriend at a party at 5 Points Mall on June 20. After the party, the pair apparently visited the Bountiful Recreation Center, where Sarah's girlfriend called her father, who then dropped Sarah at her home.
"No one has talked to her since," Green said. "She didn't take any of her belongings, no makeup or clothes. That's quite unusual."
He said Sarah was not employed and had no money. She had volunteered for the Utah AIDS Foundation but none of her friends have spoken with her since her disappearance, he said.
"She always was in contact with her friends and us, even if she was away. She wanted us to know she was OK," Ed Norfleet said.
Police have circulated fliers with Sarah's pictures but have had no responses. "We just haven't heard anything, no leads, no calls," Green said.
Sarah is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. She has brown hair to her shoulders and brown eyes. And she has a cleft scar on her upper lip. Anyone with information about her location should call the Bountiful Police Department at 298-6000.
