Lisle Francis Ashton, 74, passed away peacefully October 25, 1993, at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden.

Lisle was born September 7, 1919 in Blanding, Utah to Henry Lindsay Ashton and Genevieve Nielson Ashton. He spent his life residing in Salt Lake City. He married Fay Hoxsie on September 7, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. Lisle graduated from West High School, and attended the University of Utah. He fulfilled a mission for the LDS Church in the Northwestern States. A skilled mason, Lisle worked with his father and brothers in the masonry construction trade until his retirement, which included buildings at the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, Weber State and the McKay-Dee Hospital.Lisle is survivied by his wife, Fay; three sons, Dr. Ronald Lisle and wife, Jane Lee Ashton, Travelers' Rest, So. Carolina; Norman Lee and wife, Meredith Smith Ashton, Ogden; and Bruce Lynn and wife, Carol Paxton Ashton, Bountiful; nine grandsons, Alan, Matthew, Scott, Spencer, David Leland, Thomas Lisle, Calvin, David Lee, and Daniel; and four granddaughers, Julie, Amy, Elizabeth, and Lindsey, whose lives and accomplishments were one of his greatest satisfactions. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Homer C. (Enid) Curtis, Haverford, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Arden Lindsay and wife, Zina Hinckley Ashton, Salt Lake City; and Dr. Henry Lindsay, Jr. (Lynn) and wife, Sharon Baxter Ashton, Murray; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Calvin Nielson (Norma Pocock) Ashton, Provo. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Calvin Nielson Ashton.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 29, 1993, 1 p.m. at the Grant Fourth Ward, 1111 E. Charleton Ave. (2015 So.) Friends may call Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 So. 200 East, and at the Grant Fourth Ward on Friday from 11:45-12:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 10600 So. 1700 East, Sandy, Utah.
