Singer Dionne Warwick is angry about an ABC News "Day One" story on Monday that said some of her glitzy charity functions have reaped little for their nonprofit organizations or even cost them money because she and her large entourage stay in top-of-the-line hotels and rack up other bills.

The report said on paper Warwick has raised about $3 million for AIDS organizations and other groups since 1989, but only about $50,000 of that has been turned over to the causes.A spokesman said Warwick has a successful record of organizing benefits and raised $2 million for AIDS causes with her recording of "That's What Friends Are For."

"Ms. Warwick goes into every benefit with the mind-set that what she is doing is going to raise funds and help those in need," said her spokesman, David Brokaw. "If the facts change along the way and the benefit begins to look like it will cost a lot of money, this is not Dionne Warwick's fault."

Brokaw said Warwick was "insulted" by the show's promos.
