Former Salt Lake City resident, George Bernard Hofmann, Jr., died suddenly of a heart attack December 11, 1993 in Calimesa, California.
He was born June 10, 1920 in Salt Lake City to George and Carol Hofmann. He married Hazel Marie Coleman December 24, 1948 in Indio, Calif. A graduate of Judge Memorial High School and the University of Portland. He served in the US Navy in World War II.He was employed by Hofmann Hardware in Salt Lake and worked many years for Fruehauf Trailers. He was a member of the Sunrise Optimists and a long-time parishioner of Saint Mark's Cathedral.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel, of Calimesa; a son, George B., III and his wife Sara Jane of Salt Lake City; a daughter, Karen Ferguson and her husband Tom of Sylmar, California; and grandchildren, George B. Hofmann, IV and Heidi Nicole Hofmann. Three sisters preceded him in death: Mary, Gretchen and Helen.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, December 15, 1993, at 3 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 419 South 4th, Redlands, California.
