David Edwards has a new strategy for success on the PGA Tour - stay as anonymous as possible.

While in the midst of tying for the second-round lead at the Heritage Classic, Edwards was absent from the scoreboard. And from the interview room. And after wrapping up a 2-shot victory on Sunday, the 15-year pro thought keeping a low profile could be the way to go.

"I might have to try that again. On Fridays, I'll run for the locker room," he said of the computer scoring oversight, for which the PGA Tour officially apologized to Edwards on Saturday.

Edwards, celebrating his 37th birthday, finished with a 69 at the Harbour Town Golf Links and a 273 total, two in front of David Frost.

Frost had a 71 for 275 and Don Pooley, Ian Baker-Finch, Fuzzy Zoeller, Mark McCumber and Paul Azinger were at 277. Pooley, Baker-Finch and Zoeller had 70s, McCumber a 71 and Azinger, also tied for the lead after the third round, shot a 73.

Even though Edwards said he wasn't bothered by the mistake, he also said he couldn't fully trust the electronic scoreboards on the course, which told him he had a 2-stroke lead coming to the 18th hole. "The other thing with the scoreboard, it crossed my mind and I said, `I hope there's not a mistake up there somewhere,' " Edwards said.
