Loree Christiansen Snell, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away May 27, 1993 after a long illness.
She was born September 30, 1919 in Morgan, Utah, a daughter of Ole and Mabel Herbert Christiansen. She lived in Afton, Wyoming; Provo, Utah; Springville, Utah; and after her marriage, in Spanish Fork.A child of the Depression era, she was not able to obtain a higher education, but she was self-educated in a number of areas including: Herbology, Reflexology, and Personology. She enjoyed helping people and her life reflected service to others. She worked as an aide at Park Elementary and Brockbank Elementary in Spanish Fork for many years.
She was an active member of the LDS Church. She held many positions which she enjoyed, but her favorite was teaching. She was a student of the scriptures with a tremendous testimony and took many opportunities to share it with others.
She married Hillman Cyrus Snell February 14, 1941. There marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on February 14, 1959. He passed away January 4, 1974. To this union were born five daughters and three sons: Alyn S. Olson (David A.), Spanish Fork, Utah; Kaye S. Moos (Byron T.), Spanish Fork, Utah; Dee S. Garr (Farrell W.), Providence, Utah; Sharon S. Butterfield (Dean S.), Midvale, Utah; Ronda Valene S. Whiteside (John D.), Brownwood, Texas; H. Courtney Snell (DeEtte), Mesa, Arizona; Adrian H. Snell (Kristine), North Logan, Utah; Dorian L. Snell (Terilyn), West Jordan, Utah. She is also survived by 47 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters: Bernice Holding, Murray, Utah; Marjorie Beck (Franklin R.), Sonora, California; Eloise Clark (Dr. Craig), Orem, Utah; and three sisters-in-law: Georgie Moon, Orem, Utah; Vesta Francis, Morgan, Utah; Alta Teter, Madsen, Wisconsin; two brothers-in-law: Esmond E. Snell, Austin, Texas; and Junius F. Snell, Columbus, Ohio.
She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, and will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 1, 1993 at 2 p.m. in the Spanish Fork 17th LDS Ward Chapel, 1700 East 750 South, Spanish Fork. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, on Monday evening, 6-8 p.m. or Tuesday at the Ward Relief Society room one hour prior to services.
