Margia Lawson Vander Meyden, 78, joined her husband, Hank, after many years of separation for a Heavenly 51st wedding anniversary celebration on Sunday, July 18, 1993. She died at South Davis Community Hospital of complications following heart surgery.
Mrs. Vander Meyden was born March 13, 1915, in Albemarle, North Carolina, second daughter of Samuel Lawson and Minnie Ola Kearns. She graduated from Davis High School, and married Earl Watson. They were later divorced. She married Henry Vander Meyden in 1942, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died January 16, 1972.Mrs. Vander Meyden worked for many years at Servus Drug in Bountiful, LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, and was active in the Bountiful area Senior Citizens groups. She was a member of the Woods Cross 3rd Ward.
Survived by four children: Mrs. Robert (Marian) Speirs, Clearfield; Mrs. Byron (Kaye) Hardy, Orem; Jerry Vander Meyden, Centerville; and Brent Vander Meyden, McMinnville, Oregon; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Otto (Margaret) Van Ry, Bountiful; two brothers, Tom (Barbara) Lawson, Kanab; and Joe (Marlene) Lawson, Bountiful. Preceded in death by a brother, John and sister, Faye.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 21, 1993 at 11 a.m. in the Woods Cross 3rd Ward, 1450 So. 350 West. The family will greet friends Tuesday at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 No. Main, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
