Martina Navratilova won her 18th Wimbledon title Sunday when she and partner Mark Woodforde captured the mixed doubles championship.

The No. 3 seeds posted a 6-3, 6-4 victory over No. 12 seeds Manon Bollegraf and Tom Njissen of the Netherlands.Navratilova now trails Billie Jean King's all-time Wimbledon title record by two.

"I guess I'm in striking distance," Navratilova said. "It's nice to win another Wimbledon title. I was surprised how un-nervous I was. It was a pretty routine match even though no Wimbledon final is ever routine."

Jana Novotna completed a disappointing Wimbledon by losing the women's doubles final with partner Larisa Neiland.

Novotna, who earlier Saturday blew a big third-set lead and lost to Steffi Graf in the singles final, also lost a close contest in doubles Saturday.

Top-seeded Gigi Fernandez of the United States and Natalia Zvereva of Belarus won their sixth consecutive Grand Slam doubles championship with a 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4 victory over second-seeded Novotna and Neiland.

Fernandez and Zvereva started their Grand Slam winning streak at the 1992 French Open. They now have won 13 doubles championships together.

Novotna, who was plagued by crucial double faults in her loss to Graf, double-faulted twice late in the doubles final as her team fell behind 3-0 in the third set.

In the men's doubles final, top-seeded Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde of Australia beat Canadian Grant Connell and American Patrick Galbraith 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

Woodbridge has won his last 20 doubles finals, breaking the all-time record of 19 he had shared with John McEnroe.

"I'd probably lie if I didn't say I thought about it," Woodbridge said of the record. "This was a huge win to beat the record on because it's the best doubles tournament in the world."

Woodforde praised his partner for his doubles achievement.
