Chad M. Bertelson, 74, Rockford, died September 8, 1993.
Born August 9, 1919 in Ephraim, Utah, son of Folmer and Mae Dalton Bertelson. Married Kathryn "Katie" Sander in Salt Lake City, on March 25, 1943. Was a psychiatric social worker at Glenwood Center from 1962 through 1984. Administrative Director at Winnebago County Mental Health Clinic 1961-1962. Veteran World War II, U.S. Navy. Earned his B.A. from Brigham Young University and a master's in social work from the University of Utah. Fellow of the American Orthopsychiatric Assoc. and a member of NASW.Survivors: wife, Kathryn; daughter, Myra (Craig) Westfall, Bloomingdale, Illinois; grandson, Brian, granddaughter, Shannon; brothers, Bryce, Salt Lake City; Arlo, Houston, Texas; sister, Janet Hinkley, Salt Lake City; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by daughter, Kathryn, 1981, and son, Christopher, 1953, brother, Dwight.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Sept. 11, 1993, at Fred C. Olson Mortuary, 1001 Second Avenue. Burial in the Scandinavian Cemetery. Memorials to Rockford YMCA Foundation preferred.
