Backup quarterback Ivin Jasper rushed for four touchdowns in leading Hawaii over Texas-El Paso, 52-0, in a Western Athletic Conference game Saturday night.

Hawaii (3-1) allowed the Miners (1-2) into its territory only four times as the Warrior offense amassed 416 yards, including 326 on the ground to become the nation's top-ranked rushing team.UTEP gained only 192 yards and committed six turnovers.

Hawaii took an early lead after Daryl Green intercepted Mike Perez on the first play of the game, and starting quarterback Michael Carter dove in from 1 yard five plays later.

The Rainbows' special teams then helped extend the lead, blocking a punt and recovering a fumble to set up 10 points.

Calvin Melvin scored on a 1-yard run after the block and Carlton Oswalt kicked a 20-yard field goal after the ensuing kickoff was fumbled by Sam Rogers.

Jasper put the game away with four consective touchdowns after taking over when Carter hurt an ankle in the first quarter.

The Miners entered Hawaii territory four times, reaching the 23 on their deepest penetration.
