Max H. Blain, 87, passed away January 5, 1994 at the home of his daughter in Mt. Pleasant.

Born November 8, 1906 in Spring City, a son of James and Caroline Justesen Blain. Married Nellie Ostler, June 24, 1931 in the Manti LDS Temple. She died January 14, 1974. Married Myra B. Salisbury, Dec. 1, 1976 in the Manti LDS Temple. She died June 30, 1989. He was a school teacher/artist and member of LDS Church. He taught school in the North Sanpete School District for 40 years. Taught many private and adult art classes. A noted artist who loved to capture the beauty of God's Creations. Served on Spring City Council. Taught High Priests and was a High Priest Group leader, a home teacher. Max and Nellie served as missionaries and guides at the Manti LDS Temple Visitors Center, one of the highlights of his life.Survived by daughters and son: Mrs. Mack L. (MorRae) Wilkey, Mt. Pleasant; Gordon (Dee) Blain, Spring City; Mrs. David L. (Carolyn) Hafen, Walla Walla, Wash.; Mrs. Glenn (Sherrol) Hadfield, San Jose, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services, Monday, January 10, 1994 at 11 a.m. Spring City LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call Ursenbach Funeral Home, Sunday from 6-7 p.m. Monday at the ward chapel from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial Spring City Cemetery.
