Former BYU All-America sprinter and Olympic silver medalist Oluyemi Kayode was killed Oct. 1 in a traffic accident in Northern Arizona.

A memorial service for Kayode will be held on the BYU campus Saturday at 10 a.m. in room 267 of the Richards Building.Kayode, a native of Nigeria, was a multiple All-American at BYU. In his senior year, he placed second in the 200-meters and sixth in the 100 at the NCAA Championships.

"Oluyemi's contribution to the success of BYU's track team has been immeasurable," said BYU track coach Willard Hirschi. "He was a positive influence, and we express our heartfelt sympathies to his family at his untimely passing in the bloom of his youth."
