Country fans, be sure you keep an eye out for Garth Brooks' "The Hits" (Liberty Records) due out Tuesday, Dec. 20.

The release features 18 of his greatest including his first single, "Much Too Young" and his newest "Callin' Baton Rouge." But that's it. There are no new "previously unreleased" tunes to milk the Brooks ballyhoo. However, fans will be happy to know "Ain't Goin' Down ('Til the Sun Comes Up)" and "The Dance" open and close the album. The liner notes explaining the creation of each song is a nice addition to the multiplatinum hits that have made Brooks one of the most popular country music singers in the world.
