Hardware Ranch is now open for the winter season. Since 1946, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources has operated the ranch to feed wintering elk in an effort to keep them out of agricultural areas in Cache Valley in Northern Utah.
Visitors are taken by sleigh on a tour through wintering elk. There is also a visitors center offering information, displays and exhibits on Utah wildlife. The Hardware Ranch Cafe provides free hot drinks after the sleigh ride. It also features sandwiches and hamburgers and all-you-can-eat chicken and rib dinners.Snowmobiles rentals are also available at the ranch.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Cost of a sleigh ride is $3.50, and includes free hot drinks. Children age three and under ride free. Night rides and chicken and rib dinners are offered on Friday and Saturday evenings. Cost is $30 per couple, and reservations are needed.
