A judge has ordered an Idaho woman to undergo a psychiatric evaluation to determine if she is competent to stand trial in the shooting death of a Logan man.

First District Judge Gordon J. Low on Tuesday ordered Debra Brown, 36, transported to Utah State Hospital in Provo.A three-day preliminary hearing scheduled to begin this week was delayed pending the outcome of the evaluation.

Brown, a former Logan resident now living in Hailey, Idaho, is charged with aggravated murder, stemming from the slaying of Lael Brown, 75, no relation. He was found shot to death in his Logan home in November 1993.
