Two cactus ferruginous pygmy owls, which were brought from Mexico, are shown at the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum near Tucson, Ariz. U.S. Fish and Wildlife officials are proposing placing the nearly extinct birds on endangered status. The owls once populated waterways in central and southern Arizona.
