Edward Summers listens as the jury foreman announces a guilty verdict in the Rockland County Courthouse in New City, N.Y. Summers was convicted of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and 20 other counts in the abduction at gunpoint of Scott Nappi and Michael Falcone from the Nanuet Mall outside New York City on Jan. 3, 1994. Summers ordered the two to drive around in Falcone's 1993 Jeep Wrangler, then shot them both at point-blank range and took off in the Jeep. Falcone died; Nappi survived to testify. Summers was arrested at the wheel of the stolen Jeep soon after the shooting. He faces 75 years to life in prison. Summers, a student at South Carolina State University, had no previous criminal record.
