Police have released the identity of a woman who died early Wednesday from injuries sustained in a traffic accident caused by slick roads.

Killed was:Rosa Lomili, 38, of Clearfield.

Lomili was a passenger in a van driven by Dagoberto Rivas, 38, on a Freeport West street when the van slipped on some ice and crashed into a flatbed trailer parked at the side of the road.

"The bed sliced through the cab of the van," said Clearfield police officer Tony Reyna. "We had to extract the lady (Lomili), who was trapped underneath."

Lomili was taken to Davis Hospital and Medical Center, where she died an hour later from severe head and neck injuries. Rivas was treated for minor injuries and released.

Neither was wearing a seat belt, although Reyna said seat belts in this case would have only made the injuries worse.
