Santa's helper and state maintenance technician Joe Davis tucks a stuffed Santa into the cockpit of an F-86 fighter on display at the Utah National Guard headquarters in Draper. The cockpit is illuminated so Santa can more easily be seen by motorists driving past the headquarters on I-15. The nose of the jet, coincidentally, is red. The cold temperatures caused a lot of other red noses throughout the state early Friday, when the mercury dropped to 22 degrees at the Salt Lake International Airport. The forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies Friday night in the Salt Lake, Ogden and Provo areas. It will be partly cloudy Saturday. Highs will be in the low to mid-30s.
