A Utah Highway Patrol trooper sizes up the damage of an overturned dump truck near 8400 South and I-15 Friday morning. The accident occurred about 10:30 a.m., when the driver of the gravel-hauling dump truck swerved to miss a piece of plywood dropped by another truck ahead, a UHP spokesman said. The dump truck jackknifed and hit a sign. The back part of the trailer rolled, pulling the rig into the muddy divider. The driver was treated at an area hospital and released.
