Ida Naoma Laney Richards, age 93, died December 15, 1994 in Orem, Utah.

She was born October 20, 1901 in Kamas, Utah, the daughter of George Culbert Howard and Ella Ethelena Smith Laney. She married Ralph Ashton Richards on September 4, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died October 18, 1993.Naoma graduated from South Summit High School as Valedictorian of her class. She was a housewife and mother, having served as Relief Society and Primary President and taught Sunday School for 40 years. She served a mission in Salt Lake typing temple records and spent many years doing temple work. Naoma lived in Salt Lake City, then moved to Oakley, Utah, where she and her husband lived for over 50 years. They moved to Orem in 1980.

Surviving family members include her children: Ralph Sterling (Shirley) Richards and Arnold L. (Donna) Richards, both of Orem; Raona (Howard) Hall of Yuba City, Calif.; Ruth (Floyd) Baham of Kaysville, Utah; Carol Hardman of Orem; Afton (Gail) Van Tassell of Paul, Idaho; and Glenda (Max) Excell of Shoshone, Idaho; 34 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 20, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Sharon 2nd Ward Chapel, 641 S. 400 E., Orem. Friends may call Monday 7-8:30 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 So. State St. in Orem and Tuesday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will be in the Oakley City Cemetery.
