Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Bertram G. Schaugaard, passed away December 17, 1994 in Lehi, Utah.
Born January 19, 1906 in Kooasharum, Utah to George Lyman and Mary Lillian Hatch Schaugaard. Married Thelma Blanche Adamson June 19, 1928 in Salt Lake City; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Active member of the LDS Church. He served as president of the MIA, bishop of the West Jordan Second Ward, high priest group leader, served on four High Councils, and was an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake and Jordan River LDS Temples. He was a locomotive engineer at the Kennecott Smelter.
Survivors: Wife, Thelma of Lehi; sons, Ross (Elaine) Schaugaard of Lehi; Dee (B.J.) Schaugaard of Evergreen, Colo.; and Gary (Lyneve) Schaugaard of Arcadia, Calif.; brothers, Grant of Provo and Lee J. (Verona) of Orem. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Coletta Schaugaard.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the West Jordan 48th Ward, 7925 South 2700 West, with viewing Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the McDougal West Jordan Mortuary, 1861 West 7800 South, and also one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
