Two duck hunters who ran into trouble Sunday were rescued unharmed from a cold and frozen lake by the Utah County Search and Rescue team.

Rick Roberts, 39, of Orem and Bert Roundy, 38, of Pleasant Grove, were hunting together Sunday when Roundy dropped Roberts on Bird Island and went out onto Utah Lake on a Hovercraft. When he didn't return by mid-afternoon, Roberts called for help on his cellular phone.Search and Rescue teams responded at approximately 3 p.m. and worked through the next 10 hours to locate Roundy, who was stranded on an ice floe in the middle of the area known as Goshen Bay. A search plane spotted his small fire on the floe and was able to pick him up before midnight.

Both men were rescued in good condition, said Utah County Sheriff's spokesman, Ron Fernstedt.

"It was a good thing Roberts had a cellular phone with him," said Fernstedt.
