Stafford leads Y. over ISU
PROVO - Junior Behka Stafford scored 29 points, including a school-record-tying six three-pointers, to lead BYU's women's basketball team to a 79-64 win over Idaho State Monday afternoon in Provo.
"This is purely a confidence thing," said Cougar coach Soni Adams, who picked up her third win against five losses. "We got off the block quickly today and got going."
Seniors Debbie Dimond and Thais Kidd scored 15 point each, and Dimond led BYU in rebounds with nine.

U. women lose to OSU
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Tanja Kostic scored 26 points to lead undefeated No. 25 Oregon State to an 80-67 victory over Utah on Monday, hours after the victorious Beavers earned their first national ranking in eight years.
Oregon State (7-0) is off to its best start.
The Beavers led 38-35 at halftime, then pulled away after Utah center Amber McEwen was called for her fourth personal foul. Beavers center Tina Lelas took advantage, scoring eight of her 15 points the rest of the way.
Andrea Herold led Utah (6-2) with 28 points and McEwen added 13.

WSU women take to road
Weber State's women's basketball team takes a 5-1 record on the road this week playing at Montana State-Billings on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. and at the University of Utah on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
The Wildcats raised their record to 5-1 last Thursday with a 71-68 win over Brigham Young at home.
Sophomore forward Shelley Berg continues to lead the Wildcats in scoring (13.0 ppg) and rebounding 6.4 rpg).
