John Irwin Harvey, Sr., passed away of natural causes January 30, 1994 at home with his family at his side.
He was born August 8, 1911 in Garfield, Utah to Hugh Ray and Elizabeth Ann Bartz Harvey. Married Florence Rosella Jenkins September 14, 1937.Jack was known for his original sense of humor, joking attitude, and honest dealings with others. He attended the University of Utah. Retired after 50 years of service from the Union Pacific Railroad where he was well known and highly respected.
He loved going on picnics and camping with his family.
Survived by wife; sons, John I., Jr. (Lois), Dell J. (Paula), David B. (Marsha), Brian J., Martin J. (Sharlene), and Stanton J. (Dawn); daughters, Arleen (Ron) Hess, and Noreen Sullivan; brother, Hugh Ray; sister, Orpha Mikolash; 25 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, brother, Mero Harvey, and sister, Nadene Harvey.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 12 noon, at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, where friends may call Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Pleasant Green Cemetery.
