Michael Scott Welker died February 24, 1994 from a gunshot wound received while performing his duties as a Salt Lake County Deputy Sheriff.He was born June 20, 1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lewis F. and Lois M Welker. Mike will be remembered for his strength in moments of crisis, his compassion in moments of sorrow, and his love for those dear to him in every moment of his life.
He is survived by his parents; and two sisters, Mrs. Karen Simper of Loveland, Colo.; and Kristine Welker of Midvale, Utah.
Funeral services to honor and remember Michael will be held Tuesday, March 1, 1994 at 12 noon, in the Magna Stake Center, 3084 South 8400 West. Friends may call Monday, 6-8 p.m. at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, and Tuesday 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
