Anna Carter Cox, 85, died May 7, 1994.

Born to Samuel Leonard and Ida Leola Crawford Carter June 12, 1908 in St. George. Married V. Loraine Cox in the St. George LDS Temple September 12, 1929.She is survived by her husband, two sons, Gerald Loraine Cox, Central, Utah; and James Carter Cox, St. George; two daughters, Loretta Cox, Shingle Springs, California; and Sylvia Ann Ence, St. George; also a niece she raised as her daughter, Camellia Carter Higgins, St. George. One daughter preceded her in death in 1934 at age two. She is survived by a sister, Dorothy McAllister, Las Vegas, Nevada; and a brother, Ernest Wayne Carter, St. George; 22 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, brothers, Richard Leonard Carter, Kenneth George Carter, Burton Crawford Carter, Paul Carter and Ellis Chester Carter.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 11, 1994 at 11 a.m. at the 19th Ward Chapel, 700 South 500 East. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary, and again prior to services Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the 19th Ward Chapel. Burial will be in the St. George Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary.
