Booth gun fetches $70,000 A pistol believed carried by John Wilkes Booth the night he shot Abraham Lincoln in 1865 was sold at auction to Ripley's Believe It or Not for $70,000 in San Francisco. The derringer was found on the stage of Ford's Theater in Washington the day after Lincoln was shot. It was not the murder weapon.
