Novell's new CEO, Robert J. Frankenberg, has been elected chairman of the board for the network industry giant.
Jeff Ascerson, public relations spokesman for WordPerfect, the Novell Applications Group, said Frankenberg, 46, was elected during a board session Wednesday, replacing Raymond J. Noorda.Noorda will stay on as a board member, said Ascerson.
Noorda stepped down as CEO in May after naming Frankenberg to take over the post as president and chief executive, earlier than expected but in keeping with his promise to do so by his 70th birthday.
