Willard B. Doxey, age 79, died Saturday, January 14, 1995 at Manor Care Nursing Center of heart failure.
He was born January 17, 1915 in Ogden, a son of John and Loretta Bingham Doxey. He was raised and educated in Ogden, graduating from Weber College. He received a BS and a Masters degree from the University of Utah and his doctorate from the University of California-Berkeley.. He was a teacher at Davis High School and a professor at the University of Maryland and BYU. He was a member of the Ogden LDS 4th Ward, and served a mission in Germany. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed extensive traveling, fishing and reading, and classical music.Survivors include nieces and nephews, Tom Woods, Janice Stewart, Ted Woods, Lynette Shupe, all of Ogden; Karen Grant, Clearfield; Joan Hadley, Bountiful; Robert Doxey, Calif.; Donald Doxey, Salt Lake City; John Doxey, Carolyn Palfreyman, both of California; and Ronald Doxey of Arizona. He preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 19, 11 a.m., at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836 36th Street, with Bishop Larry Eck officiating. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
