Our loving husband, father, and grandfather, Richard Lynn McCoy passed away January 6, 1995 in West Valley City, Utah.
He was born March 28, 1937 in Dillon, Montana to Raymond Boyd and Julia Webster McCoy. He married Carol J. Mickelsen September 22, 1967 in Salt Lake City, Utah; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Richard loved the outdoors, hunting and especially fishing. He worked with the handicapped at Deseret Industries and the scouting program. He played Santa Claus for many years and was a regular at the Primary Children's Hospital. He taught hunters safety through the forest service. Repaired and built many toys in his home.
Richard is survived by his wife, Carol, children: Marty McCoy, Dixie (Jim) McCormick, John Richard (Lori) McCoy, Phillip LeRoy and Brian Larkin Peery, Deborah Sue McCoy, and Sharon Ann (Robert) Harris, 11 grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. W.J. Frese, half brother, Ray Boyd, two sisters, Sharon and Katherine. Preceded in death by sister, Shirley, his father, Jack Jardine.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 11, 1995, 10 a.m. at the Western Hills 1st Ward, 5133 South Heath Ave., Kearns. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Road, and one hour prior to services at the ward. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
