Milwaukee, looking to jump start its offense, traded guard Todd Day and center Alton Lister to the Boston Celtics on Sunday for point guard Sherman Douglas and Bucks guard Eric Murdock said the dealing isn't done yet.

"The team hasn't been playing that well and we were looking to make a change," Bucks coach Mike Dunleavy said.Douglas is "a veteran point guard who ... can provide us with strong leadership. He has the ability to run a team."

Murdock said he believes he will be sent to another NBA team.

"I really think I'm going to move (Monday), that's the latest I've heard. I'm very happy if that is the case," Murdock said before Sunday night's home game with Minnesota. "It's part of the game. It's part of the business. It won't be hard."

The Bucks also activated center Kevin Duckworth from the injured list. He was acquired in an Oct. 18 trade with Washington but went on the injured list Oct. 31 after arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

Douglas was a second-round pick of the Miami Heat in 1988 out of Syracuse. He made the NBA all-rookie team that season and joined the Celtics in the 1992-93 season.

Going into this season, he had a career scoring average of 13 points with 7.3 assists and 2.4 rebounds.

Both Day and Murdock were held out of Friday night's loss to the Cavaliers in Cleveland, raising speculation they were on the trading block.

Both players have been unhappy about not starting or getting enough playing time.

Douglas started four of Boston's first 10 games, averaging 9.8 points.

Day, a first-round pick of the Bucks out of Arkansas in 1992, has been averaging 9.1 points and Murdock 6.9, with both playing about 21 minutes a game.

Lister was averaging 1.4 points in limited playing time. He first joined the team as a first-round draft pick in 1981 but left after five seasons. He was reacquired as a free agent last season and averaged 2.8 points in 12-9 minutes per game.

Murdock, acquired from the Utah Jazz in a trade in 1992, averaged 13 points while starting about half the games last season but had seen Lee Mayberry get more starts for the Bucks at point guard.

Dunleavy said the trade was contingent on all players passing physical examinations by 4 p.m. Tuesday.
