A new radio station could be on the air as early as Friday - KQMB, FM-102.7.
"Star 102.7" will premiere as a "bright" adult contemporary music station at the only vacant spot left on the FM radio dial along the Wasatch Front.Quarry Mountain Broadcasting of Midvale, station owner, has announced that Simmons Family Radio of Salt Lake City, owners of FM-100 (KSFI), KRSP and KDYL, have a joint sales agreement to help operate "Star 102.7." Simmons will handle advertising and sales duties, and Quarry will be responsible for programming and engineering.
Only part of the day will initially feature live DJs on the new station. Don Bishop, who worked for KLCY several years ago, will be the morning personality on KQMB.
Robert H. Morey, currently station manager of KSRR-AM in Orem, has been named station manager.
