Global Platinum & Gold Inc., 8421 Top of the World Drive, has completed construction of a $2 million mill in Buckeye, Ariz., according to Richard E. Jensen, president.
He said the mill is processing 100 tons of ore daily resulting in 1,000 pounds of high-grade concentrate that is sent to refining facilities in Salt Lake City for final production of platinum, rhodium, palladium, gold and silver.Jensen said the company used to send its concentrate to Belgium for processing, but that became too expensive and cumbersome, so he decided to build a mill in the United States.
Global officials also are completing the work in preparation to filing its general registration statement to meet minimum requirements for trading on the NASDAQ system.
