Alan Osmond, oldest member of The Osmond Brothers musical group, says he has multiple sclerosis but remains optimistic for his future.
"I have the progressive kind of MS that comes on very slowly and keeps getting gradually worse," Osmond, 45, told "Entertainment Tonight" in an interview to be broadcast Friday.Multiple sclerosis is a degenerative muscular disease. Osmond said his first indication that something was wrong came while performing.
"I was playing the trumpet and I just could not finger it as quickly and it bothered me," he said.
"I thought I probably strained my hand or something."
Osmond holds out hope, however, that somehow the disease can be stopped.
"I believe that someday, somebody will lead me to something that's gonna make me better," he said.
