3-6-9 bowling tourney Sunday
Junction Lanes will host an Easter Sunday 3-6-9 Tournament. It's a handicap tourney open to men and women. Squad times are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. All bowlers receive strikes in the third, sixth and ninth frames. Entry fee is $14 per person. For reservations call Junction Lanes, 255-6841.
Weber State signs basketball player
OGDEN - Weber State University head men's basketball coach, Ron Abegglen, has announced the signing of Bart McIntire (6-8, 225 junior forward) to a national letter of intent.
McIntire comes to WSU from Seward County Community College in his hometown of Liberal, Kansas. This past season, Seward won the Jayhawk Western Conference league title, the Region 14 junior college tournament title, and advanced to the national junior college tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.
"Bart brings tremendous skills and an even more impressive work ethic to our program," said Abegglen. "He will play at our number four or power forward position where Kirk Smith played this year."
A two-year starter, McIntire averaged 12.7 points and 7.9 rebounds this past season.
3 sign with Weber women's golf team
Weber State women's golf coach Jeff Smith has signed three women to letters of intent.
The signees are Kami Whitehead out of Bingham High School in South Jordan; Jill Steenburg out of Uintah High School in Vernal; and Nichole Jensen out of Rigby High School in Rigby, Idaho.
CEU player signs with Colorado State
Bryan Christiansen of the College of Eastern Utah has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Colorado State.
Christiansen, a 6-5 forward, averaged 15 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in helping CEU to a second-place finish in the Scenic West Conference.
