Former KSL-TV news reporter Larry Lewis is the new public information officer for the Utah Department of Agriculture.

Lewis is an 18-year veteran of radio and television news reporting. He has reported on many agricultural and environmental issues and won awards for his reporting of the 1986 Challenger accident and the 1988 Yellowstone National Park fires.Lewis' tasks include helping the department emphasize the need for special protection for some farmland from excessive urban development and resistance to federal government regulations that are counterproductive to Utah's agricultural interests.
