Our beloved wife and mother, Jeanene Watkins Scott, 65, peacefully passed away May 15, 1995 in Salt Lake City, Utah, surrounded by her immediate family.
Born June 30, 1929 in Orem, Utah, to Andrea Rich and U.S. Senator Arthur V. Watkins. Married Elder Richard G. Scott, July 16, 1953, in the LDS Manti Temple. Jeanene actively participated in church and civic affairs throughout her life, including serving as president of the Senate Daughters in Washington D.C., and president of the American School Board in Cordoba, Argentina. She majored in dance and sociology at George Washington University, graduating in 1951. She served a mission to the Northwestern States, and held many leadership positions in the LDS Church. Her life was devoted to compiling extensive family history for temple work, while reaching out to many individuals in need. She blessed the lives of all she knew with her warmth, enthusiasm, and unfailing positive outlook. Jeanene made significant worldwide contributions as a loving companion in her husband's fulfillment of callings as Mission President, Seventy and as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve.Survived by her husband; five children, Mary Lee Scott, Kenneth Scott, Linda (Monte) Mickle, David (Celeste) Scott and Michael Scott; six grandchildren; brother and sisters, Arthur (Ruth) Watkins, Nedra Reese, Venna Swalberg and Nina Palmer. Preceded in death by a son, Richard and daughter, Andrea.
Funeral services Friday, May 19th, at 12 noon in the Mount Olympus North Stake Center, 4176 Adonis Drive, (4155 South 3930 East). Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Thursday evening, from 6-8 p.m., and at the Stake Center on Friday, from 10-11:30 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
