Dr. Richard Austin Gallant, Sr., age 75, admired family physician, died April 27, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada, of complications following heart surgery.
Richard was born January 20, 1920 in Butte, Montana, to Joseph and Caroline Gallant. He married Kathryn Amelia Grogan in Salt Lake City in 1946. He graduated from the University of Montana in 1943 in pre-medicine and earned the Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Utah in 1950. He completed an internship in General Practice at St. Mark's Hospital in 1951. During World War II, he served in the United States Army in the European and Pacific Theaters. Dr. Gallant was a member of the American Medical Assoc., Utah State Medical Assoc. and St. Mark's Hospital Medical Staff.He is survived by wife, Kathryn Gallant; a son, Richard `Skip' Gallant, Jr. and daughters, Candace S. Gallant and Nanette Gallant Lawson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Caroline Gallant and brothers, Raymond and Lloyd Gallant.
