Donna Rae Somerville, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, passed away Friday, June 16, 1995 of cancer.
She was born in Vernal, Utah on October 5, 1928, a daughter of Wayne and Theora Harris (Marchant). She graduated from North Summit High School in Coalville, Utah. In 1947 she married Charles R. Somerville and had been a resident of Ogden since that time. She was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ogden. She was actively involved in the Democratic Party and frequently served as a registration agent. She had been an Avon representative for over 25 years and had been a member of the Avon Honor Society and President's Club. For many years she was the top sales representative in her district. She was recently selected by other Avon Representatives to receive the 1994-1995 Spirit of Avon Award.She was the devoted mother of Cheryl Rae Somerville (deceased), Marcia Ann Mattson, Poway, Calif.; Wayne Somerville, Tuba, Ariz; and Doug Somerville, Las Vegas, Nevada. Family was always her first priority.
In addition to her husband and three children, survivors include four sisters, Thelma Richins, Joy Haney, Aloma Ercanbrack and Dixie Bezzant; three grandchildren, Melissa Ann Mattson, Jeffrey Wayne Mattson, and Andrea Rae Somerville; daughter-in-law, Gloria Somerville; and son-in-law, Robert W. Mattson.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 1995 at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ogden, 140 N. Tyler.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
