Nate Miller rallied from a lethargic start to win his first world title, knocking out Orlin Norris in the eighth round Saturday to take his WBA cruiserweight title.
Doctors and paramedics came into the ring to attend to Norris when he collapsed after he tried to regain his feet following the knockout. He was taken from the ring on a stretcher with an oxygen mask over his face in scenes reminiscent of the last world title bout at London Arena in February.
That night, Gerald McClellan lapsed into a coma and sustained serious brain injuries after being stopped by Nigel Benn.
But Norris did not lose consciousness, and ring officials said he was talking while on the stretcher.
"At no time was he unconscious," British Boxing Board doctor Kampta Outar said.
Doctors at Royal London Hospital later reported that Norris was talking normally and was being kept for observation. They said he was likely to be released Sunday morning.
Benn fought the main bout of the card, winning his eighth defense of the WBC super-middleweight belt against Vincenzo Nardiello of Italy with an eighth-round knockout.
