GRADUATION: Over 20 athletes are graduating this week from BYU.

Heading the list are seven former football players: James Johnson (English), Brian Mitchell (social work), Tyler Anderson (P.E.), Brett Benson (broadcast communications), Randy Brock (political science), Chris Gulstad (journalism communication) and Brian Hughes (history teaching).

From the women's teams: Kathy Doman (P.E.) from the swimming team, Camille Woodbury Cox (social work) from the basketball team, and Laura Miller (therapeutic recreation) and Virpi Ollila (advertising) from the volleyball team.

From the Cougar wrestling team: academic All-Americans Scott Eastman (nursing) and Craig Lamont (marriage and family therapy). The other wrestlers are Luke Parham (construction management) and Scott Wycoff (geography).

From the baseball team: Darren Milne (P.E.), Alan Sorensen (economics) and Shane Wilson (public relations).

Other athletes graduating include basketball player John Fish (broadcast communications), golfer Brad Sutterfield (recreation management), swimmer Ben Harrison (English), trackster John Palmatier (zoology) and tennis players Brian Hardin (political science) and Andrew Sheppert (human philosophy).

ALL ACADEMIC SWIMMERS: BYU men's swimming coach Tim Powers has been notified that three of his swimmers have been selected to the College Swim Coaches of America's All Academic team.

Named to the honors squad were John Parise, Nathan Cook and Matthew Dahl.

Four members of the national academic swimming team's thirty-three man squad came from the WAC with three of the four from BYU.

Junior Colleges

NEW UVSC ASSISTANT: Former BYU and Mountain View High School baseball standout Gary Cooper has been named assistant baseball coach at Utah Valley State College. Cooper will join head coach Steve Gardner on the Wolverine staff in September, after finishing up the current season with the Detroit Tigers' AA farm team in Jacksonville, Florida.
